Our six-month trip is coming to a close, but we still have a few more activities in store. With a cool wind blowing in from the Pacific, we pay a visit to the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, with an extra stop a few miles away to visit a beach where elephant seals now regularly congregate. The lighthouse has a picturesque beach. Shaded from the wind, it's a perfect place for lunch. Mommy and daughter barefoot on the beach. Joey, Marijane, and Goen frolicking near the lighthouse. Mommy -- that water is COLD !! The Biblins: Carley, David, and Sky -- our soon-to-be tour guide of the Ano Nuevo State Park elephant seals. Sky gives us a lift in the park's van as we get a special behind-the-scenes tour of the beach that elephant seals have made their home. A short stroll along a boardwalk, and then.... About 200 elephant seals lounging in the sun. A viewing platform complete with telescopes.
